We had a special observing session tonight at Wellow in memory of our colleague and friend Colin Luger, who died in September last year. Colin was a very positive, warm, and determined character. The observing session was at the suggestion of his son Ben, and was a good way to remember Colin. Ben taking up his hobby, and his mad schemes to improve an already very impressive 16" Dob seem very fitting!
After an early evening look at Uranus ,we had wonderful views of the Orion Nebula and the winter open clusters, with some galaxies thrown in for good luck, and quick looks at the Crab and Rosette Nebulae. When the clouds came as expected we packed up; just as well as 10 minutes later it was raining!
