Tony and I hosted a public observing session at Wellow on Tuesday. We had about 7 visitors. We had chosen that evening partly because there was a pleasing conjunction of a very new moon in the Hyades cluster and Venus, and they didn't disappoint. We set up initially in the SE part of the Wellow car park to make the most of this. Later on we moved to the usual position behind the hedge on the north side to shield us from the tiresome badly aligned security lights some residents have installed. We had good views of Jupiter, some double stars, M3, and some galaxies.
